Pineau De Re RacehorseAfter another fun filled and action packed running of the Grand National it was Pineau De Re that managed to stay on its four feet during this year’s event and managed to get around the course is first place, and punters who backed this horse were rewarded with a huge 25 to 1 winning payout.

It was certainly a year for the bookmakers with the third place horse being the favourite and all of the other of placed horses in the race coming home at longs odds, so at the end of the financial year for a lot of bookmakers we can expect to see some very healthy profits, keeping in mind the huge volumes of cash that was placed on this year’s Grand National!

Grand National 2014 Winner and Placed Horses

3rd Place – The horse that finished in third place in the 2014 Grand National was the joint favourite and that horse was Double Seven ridden by the Champion Jockey A. P. McCoy the Returned Starting Price on this horse was 10/1.

4th Place – The fourth place horse in the 2014 Grand National was Alvarado ridden by Paul Moloney and the Starting Price returned on this horse was 33/1.

5th Place – As some UK betting sites were paying out each way bets on the fifth placed finisher then the fifth horse in the 2014 Grand National was Rocky Creek this horse was ridden by Noel Fehily and the Starting Price returned for Rocky Creek was 16/1.
